Huawei Terminal brand Honor is set to launch the Honor 8 Pro in India on Thursday, July 6, and ahead of the launch, the price of the smartphone has been leaked. The Honor 8 Pro price in India is tipped to be Rs. 29,999, while the smartphone has already been confirmed to be an Amazon India exclusive.

A report by the Hindustan Times tips the Honor 8 Pro price in India ahead of its launch later this week. The tipped price is said to be for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Earlier, the company has confirmed that the Honor 8 Pro will be an Amazon India exclusive, and that it will be launched in the country this Thursday. Expect some launch offers to be announced on the day as well.

To recall, the Honor 8 Pro was launched with a price tag of EUR 549 (roughly Rs. 39,500) in Europe. Some of the highlight features of the Honor 8 Pro are dual cameras at the back, a massive 4000mAh battery, and an impressive 6GB of RAM. The smartphone will be available in Navy Blue and Midnight Black colour choices in India.

The Honor 8 Pro comes with two 12-megapixel rear camera sensors with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording. One sensor takes images in RGB while the other takes them in monochrome. At front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies as well. The dual-SIM Honor 8 Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1, and features a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) LTPS LCD display. It is powered by Kirin 960 (4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz + 4 Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz) coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

It comes with 128GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded further by using the hybrid microSD card slot (up to 256GB). The Honor 8 Pro includes 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC.

Ahead of MWC 2017, Huawei has quietly launched its new smartphone in Finland. The Honor 8 Lite is up for pre-orders, and is priced at EUR 269 (roughly Rs. 19,600). It is set to go on sale in the country on February 17.

Finland site Suomimobiili reported of this development in the country. The Honor 8 Lite, specifications wise, is very similar to the refreshed Huawei P8 Lite (2017) launched recently, albeit with minute differences. One of the big highlights of the Honor 8 Lite is that it runs on EMUI 5.0, based on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

As for specifications, the Honor 8 Lite features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass protection. It is powered by the company’s in-house Kirin 655 octa-core CPU paired with 3GB RAM. Just to compare, the Honor 8 sports a Kirin 950 SoC with 4GB RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB of internal storage with the option to further expand it via microSD card (up to 128GB).

As for optics, the Honor 8 Lite sports a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera as well with a 77-degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery and comes in four colour options – Black, Blue, Gold, and White. However, the report claims that the company will make available only the Black and White variant right now and launch the Gold variant sometime in the end of the month. The Blue variant will be launched sometime in March. There’s no word yet on availability in international markets.

The Honor 6X (Review), which was launched in the country last week with registrations for the first sale opening on the same day, has gone on sale via Amazon India on Thursday at 2pm IST. The smartphone was launched in two variants in India – 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage priced at Rs. 12,999, and 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage at Rs. 15,999. Only the former is going on sale in India on Thursday, with the latter being made available later this month. It’s available in Gold, Grey, and Silver colour options.

Amazon’s launch offers on the Honor 6X include 10 percent cashback on SBI credit cards, up to 14GB of free data on select Airtel recharges, and up to 80 percent off on Kindle ebooks up to a maximum of Rs. 300.

The Honor 6X’s smartphone’s biggest highlight is its dual rear camera setup. It bears one 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor that supports PDAF (autofocus time of 0.3 seconds is being touted) and an additional 2-megapixel sensor right below it, helping provide depth-of-field or Bokeh effects with a combined wide aperture range of f/0.95 – f/16. On the front, Honor 6X bears an 8-megapixel front camera with a 77-degree wide-angle lens and 1.25-micron pixels.

A hybrid dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) smartphone, the Honor 6X runs EMUI 4.1 OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company says a beta version of EMUI 5.0, based on Android 7.0 Nougat, will be available for buyers at launch, with the final version due to release in Q2 2017. The Honor 6X display measures 5.5-inch and has full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution, 2.5D curved glass protection and pixel density of 403ppi – the company is also touting an ‘eye-comfort mode’ that filters out blue light. The new Honor smartphone is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core (4 cores at 2.1GHz + 4 cores at 1.7GHz) SoC. The inbuilt storage is expandable via microSD (up to 128GB).

Honor 6X connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS/ A-GPS. The new smartphone is powered by a 3340mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 600 hours of standby time and up to 11.5 hours of video playback. Honor 6X battery features fast charging support that charges the whole battery in 2.5 hours. It measures 150.9×72.6×8.2mm and weighs 162 grams. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and a magnetometer.

Honor last week sent out invites for a January 24 launch of its Honor 6X dual-camera smartphone in India. While Honor’s invite specifically did not mention the name of the smartphone, Amazon India has. The Honor 6X will be sold exclusively on Amazon India and the online marketplace has confirmed the device will launch on January 24.

Those interested in the Honor 6X can be notified about the launch by heading over to the Amazon India page. The Honor 6X was launched in China in October with the Huawei-owned Honor brand touting a dual-camera setup as the phone’s biggest highlight. The device was launched starting at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 9,900) and offered in Gold, Silver, Grey, Blue, and Rose Gold colour variants.

The Honor 6X sports a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass protection. The device is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core (4 cores at 2.1GHz + 4 cores at 1.7GHz) SoC. The smartphone is offered in three variants – 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) card slots support microSD cards (up to 128GB) in the second SIM card slot.

Coming back to the main highlight, the Honor 6X’s dual-camera setup features one 12-megapixel sensor that supports PDAF and a 2-megapixel sensor just below it. Over at the front you get a 8-megapixel sensor for selfies. The fingerprint sensor at the back sits below the dual-camera setup. The company claims the fingerprint sensor can unlock the smartphone in 0.3 seconds.

Connectivity options in the Honor 6X include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS/ A-GPS. The device is fitted with a 3340mAh battery with fast charging support. The handset measures 150.9×72.6×8.2mm and weighs 162 grams.

Indian pricing of the Honor 6X will be known once the device is launched on January 24.

Huawei Terminal’s Honor brand has confirmed that it will unveil the Honor 8 smartphone at an event on July 11. The launch teaser apart from confirming the launch date also hints that the Honor 8 may sport a dual-rear camera setup. We will however have to wait for Honor’s confirmation of the same.

The anticipated Honor 8 smartphone had allegedly passed China’s Tenaa certification site recently, tipping some innards of the handset. The Tenaa listing for the Honor phone thought to be the Honor 8 points to a 5.2-inch full-HD display, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 2900mAh battery, octa-core Kirin 950 processor, 4GB of RAM, NFC, and a fingerprint scanner.

The Tenaa listing also tipped the design of the Honor 8 smartphone with images showing a dual-rear camera setup at the back and fingerprint scanner also at the back.

Earlier this month, Honor launched the Honor 5C in India priced at Rs. 10,999. The smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart and HiHonor.com in its first flash sale on Thursday. It comes with a 15-month warranty, and screen replacement warranty for the first month. The Honor 5C (Review) variant launched in India is the one with 4G connectivity.

The dual-SIM Honor 5C supports Micro-SIM cards with 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIM cards. To recall the specifications, it sports a 5.2-inch full-HD display; is powered by the company’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 650 octa-core processor (4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz + 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz); 2GB of RAM; packs 16GB of storage; expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB); sports a 13-megapixel rear camera; 8-megapixel front camera; fingerprint scanner, and a 3000mAh battery.
